It was so great to see the class again today after our two week break. It sounds like there was lots of fun and adventure to be had by many!
In math we began working on long division. I didn’t assign math homework today as the concept was new (or forgotten to many). Just a heads up to parents that I am teaching the partial quotient method as I find most students tend to grasp it better than the traditional method. If students have learned the traditional method and prefer it they are welcome to use it instead, no worries. Students are reminded to get back into the habit of completing reflex math a minimum of 3 times per week and to be reading daily for 30 mins during the school week.
In art we looked a bit at some art pieces created using pointillism. Afterwards students were given some time to work on a piece of their own. Those who didn’t manage to finish this assignment are asked to take it home and finish it for Thursday.
Also just a reminder to parents that next week there is an early dismissal on Wednesday and a Pro-D day on the Thursday, with the Easter break following that.
